Book of Panda

Welcome to the Book of Panda:

A collection of pithy pointers for getting through life. As the panda is pretty chilled, the ‘Book’ is a work in progress. In fact, it’s still very early days. When a little pearl of wisdom appears before me, or floats grudgingly to the surface of my consciousness, I will give it it’s own little verse … eventually … if I don’t forget it.

The Verses:

1. Try everything at least twice.

2. The one you don’t have is the one you’ll never get.

3. Care about others, not about what others think.

4. Learn from the past, but don’t live in it.

5. Don’t give up.

6. Don’t let it get to you. Today may seem bad, however, good times can come around very quickly.

7. Don’t make a decision in the heat of the moment. Always give yourself time to consider the situation, options and implications, away from the pressure being applied.

8. Don’t over-think it. Usually the simplest solution is the best (Ockham’s Razor).

9. Just get in and do it – it may be like jumping into cold water, but you will survive and thrive.

10. Focus on one major thing at a time. Dividing your time will divide your effort and dilute the results.

11. Doing something, doesn’t mean you’re doing something helpful. Review what you’re doing and make sure it meets the need.

12. Procrastination is your friend.

13. Don’t act in anger.

14. Anger is temporary – whether it’s yours or someone else’s. Be prepared for apology and moving on when the anger subsides.

15. Own your mistakes.

16. Never trust someone who has to paint a smile on. Clowns … I’m looking at you!

17. Before judging others, ask yourself what you would have done in the situation.

18. Empathise.

19. Have a crack.

20. Don’t blame the ref.
